A proven record

Brad Owen is an accomplished leader who gets things done! He was elected as Washington State’s fifteenth lieutenant governor in 1996 and reelected by large majorities in the last three campaigns. Brad serves as president of the Senate and as acting governor in the absence of the governor.

Dedicated to our children

Brad Owen is dedicated to making Washington a state for healthy kids and safe communities. He has made substance abuse prevention and child welfare one of his top priorities in office. In the last decade he traveled throughout the state with a musical, multi-media program to deliver positive messages about substance abuse and bullying awareness to youth and for years has been the chair of Washington State Mentors.

Fighting for our future

Brad Owen is a strong advocate for economic development. His priority is to stimulate our economy and help create family wage jobs. He has traveled the world building economic alliances with friendly nations and wants to continue his work in helping Washington State businesses increase their share of the world markets. He was awarded the ‘Order of Isabelle the Catholic’ by King Carlos the 1st of Spain for his work in promoting economic development, the arts, education and peace. It is the highest recommendation a non-citizen of Spain can receive.

Sportsman & Environmentalist

Brad Owen is an avid outdoorsman and fisherman. He believes that we need to protect our unique quality of life while balancing our needs for economic development and jobs.

Family

Brad Owen and his wife, Linda, live in Shelton. They have six children: Shanie, Dana, Sherri, Mark, Adam and Royce and nineteen grandchildren.

Economic Development

At a time of high unemployment, Brad Owen’s highest priority is to use the Lt. Governor’s office as a vehicle to bring jobs and economic development to our state. He will continue to work with constituents and businesses throughout our state to promote Washington state products and services.
Brad will continue his work as a Goodwill Ambassador for our state, developing and maintaining strong relationships with other states and countries. When asked, he will take trade missions to countries throughout the world promoting Washington State products and workers. Throughout his service as Lt. Governor, Brad has been able to make these trade missions to promote Washington state products at very little and in most cases no expense to the taxpayer.

Independence

Brad Owen has always been an independent voice for all voters of the state of Washington. He has a long history of working with labor and business to bring jobs and other opportunities into Washington state and to do his very best to lower taxes whenever possible.

Honesty and Integrity

Brad Owen believes that the voters of Washington state deserve a campaign based upon the facts and each of the candidates true positions on the issues. He pledges to run a clean and honest
campaign. Brad promises to take positions on issues that benefit our state and run a positive issue oriented campaign. Brad promises to tell you exactly how much money he has raised, where the money is coming from and not to make false claims.

Modernizing Government

Brad Owen will continue to have an “open door” policy in his office for anyone in need of help. He will also continue his focus to make Washington State the most efficient government in the country.
